North British Railway Class M, later LNER Class D31, at Eastfield MPD, photographed circa 1927.
Built at Cowlairs, Glasgow, in August 1890 and withdrawn in October 1935.
The locomotive behind appears to be LNER Class J35 0-6-0 No.9615 Verdun, built in 1899 and withdrawn in April 1935.
