Notes:-
RMS Edinburgh Castle (1947)
Built: This ocean liner was also built by Harland and Wolff in Belfast and launched in 1947.
She was a replacement for the earlier vessel, which had been lost during WWII.
Career: She operated on the same Britain-South Africa route as her predecessor and was known for her luxurious accommodations.
End of service: Rising fuel prices in the mid-1970s made her operation unprofitable.
She was withdrawn from service in 1976 and sent to Taiwan to be scrapped.
